The town has won the Tidy Towns Award twice, and is known for its peacefulness and beauty. In addition, the town has a thriving commercial centre where residents and visitors enjoy a wide variety of services and attractions.
Town schools enjoy a provincial reputation for quality, and recreational facilities are well used and well maintained.
